Danek is an Edmonton-born, self-educated artist. Since starting his professional career at age 14, Danek has supported himself with commissioned sculptures and paintings for both indoor and outdoor settings. His work can be found in private and public collections throughout the world including federal, provincial and municipal buildings, parks, universities, schools and churches. Among his successes, Danek was honoured to be commissioned to create the Lester B. Pearson monument on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario (below).  Danek's extensive personal studies in physiology, history, North American ethnology and paleontology add depth and authenticity to his work and teaching. He's taught at the University of Alberta, University of Saskatoon, Red Deer College and numerous Edmonton area schools.
